FUNDS FOR NEW ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

The cities of Vascau and Valea lui Mihai as well as the municipality of Marghita will receive money from Bihor County Council in order to implement feasibility studies necessary for technical projects related to building bypass roads of the localities.

The investment will be ensured through ADD Bihor. Within the first meeting of this year, the General Associates Assembly of the 9 member localities of ADD Bihor have voted on the splitting of part of the funds allocated by Bihor County Council to communities in Bihor County.  The representatives have thus decided unanimously that 500.000 RON + VAT from the budget of ADD Bihor for this year be allocated for financing the feasibility studies needed by local authorities in Vascau, Valea lui Mihai and Marghita in order to implement projects related to building bypass roads. For the city of Vascau this project will mean a continuation of the bypass road planned for the area of Beius-Stei-Lunca, meaning ensuring road infrastructure over a portion of 4-5 km.

The investment is also necessary in Valea lui Mihai where an increasing number of trucks transit the city, ensuring the flux of merchandise towards the Ukraine and Russia. All these vehicles travel through the city, with a bypass road being the only viable solution for the de-congesting of heavy traffic. The municipality of Marghita does not yet have a project underway that affects road infrastructure. The fact that work on the nearby highway is advancing is an added argument to understand that Marghita needs a bypass road as well. The main artery, Balcescu street, is currently very congested, meaning there is an urgent necessity for elaborating the project for a bypass road. One of the proposed solutions is building a road from Tasnad towards Chiribis, meaning approximately 8-9 kilometers of road infrastructure, but the feasibility study will show more exactly what the economic data of this project will entail. We also need to consider the need to expropriate. In this configuration, the communes of Abramut and Tauteu could be implicated.

Within the meeting that took place on Thursday, the members of ADD Bihor have further discussed another two initiatives. The mayor of Stei, Gheorghe Iulian Balaj, presented the problem of the water supply and solicited financing for a feasibility study needed in order to resolve this problem within the city. In Nucet, the mayor Mircea Tuduce has solicited funds for the acquisition of 10 small houses in the vacation village of Vartop to be used as spaces for commercializing local produce. The two subjects will also feature on the daily roll of the next meeting, scheduled to take place next month.
